Little Gems

Three years ago today, my mum died at home surrounded by her loving family.  Although it was very sad for all of us, to my mind it was a perfect death, although somewhat premature.

One of the little gems that I came across amongst Mum’s things was a small notebook filled with poems that she had written during one period of her life.

Today I would like to share with you one of those poems.  I don’t know who it was written for but as you can see,  it was written with love.

Just for You

I had this inclination
A sudden inspiration,
To choose a star and name it just for you.

You thought it quite sensational
And then, so unexplainable
The tingle of your touch! – you felt it too.

You chose for me a fantasy
A brilliant, dazzling symphony
Enthralling starlight dreams – can all come true.

Though near or far
I’ll know my star
And be aware of you.
Your gentle touch – you mean so much
My heart is full of you.
