I stood on the Bridge

image of head floating down the river

When I was a child I came across this little ditty.  I thought it was the funniest things that I had ever heard.  I still find it very amusing.  I don’t know who wrote it, but if anyone out there knows please drop me a line in the comments so that I can acknowledge the author.  I don’t know the name of the work either, the title is mine.

I Stood on the Bridge

I stood on the bridge at midnight

My lips were all a quiver,

I gave a cough

My head fell off

And floated down the river.

  1. the boy stood on the burning deck
    the ship was all aflame
    he looked around remorsefully
it would never be the same!

    • Thank you Nancy. This ditty definitely will have to have an illustration Give me a couple of days to do it justice
